Apple is working to create an updated, cheaper iPhone SE 2, due to be released in 2020. In a new investor research note that highlights suppliers’ expectations for the new device, Apple analyst Min Chi Kuo shared some sales forecasts.

Kuo believes that Apple will release at least 20 million iPhone SE 2 devices in 2020 after launch in the first half of the year. The optimistic situation, Kuo says, is 30 million units.

According to Kuo, the PiPhone SE 2 ‌ will use a 10-layer PCB substrate as a substrate for its motherboard, which will benefit iPhone vendors such as Pending Holdings, Xinxing and AT & S. And this despite expectations that it will less expensive than the SLP used on the iPhone 11 series.

In previous studies, Kuo shared quite a lot of details about the iPhone SE 2, which, despite its somewhat misleading name, is actually closer in design and specification to the iPhone 8. The device will be equipped with a 4.7-inch display, a rear camera with one lens and fingerprint sensor Touch ID. It will ship with the same A13 chip as the iPhone 11 and 11 Pro, and will have 3 GB of RAM. The only thing the iPhone SE 2 will differ from the iPhone 8 is its price. It is expected that the new cheap smartphone will cost $ 399. Apple’s iPhone 8 is now selling for $ 449.

It is expected that the new iPhone will be released in spring 2020, and Apple will release it before the new flagship iPhone 2020. It is also expected that it will be popular in countries where low-cost devices sell well. First of all, it is India and China.
